Due to a rising and alarming number of these greenhouse gases responsible for climate change, a lot of measures have been taken. The IPCC – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assesses the scientific, technical and socio economic information relevant for understanding of the risk of the ‘human induced’ climate change and strives to lookout for options for adaptation and mitigation. Also, the Kyoto Protocol is a protocol to the UNFCCC or the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – which aims at fighting against Global warming. The protocol allows for several flexible carbon trading or emission trading.
There is also an ongoing phenomenon of ‘corporate carbon management’ which helps in calculating the carbon emissions by a company, tactics on how to balance it and much more. All this is important because the consumers need to know what the company they associate themselves with does for the environment and in more specific terms – for their safety. This also gives an organization a benefit over the others and helps in brand recall and helps in establishing stronger brand equity.
The augmented benefits of such a move are copious, and this is only a first step towards corporate contribution, the process follows up once you get there and engage yourself towards customer and environment service.
